A tea-tasting game is a simple Christmas activity for adults who enjoy trying different flavours. Keep the game about taste and aroma rather than guessing what a tea is supposed to do for your health.
Prepare a small selection
Choose up to three teas. Tell everyone the ingredients before they decide whether to take part, even if you keep the order of the samples a surprise. Check dietary needs and follow each product’s instructions. Serve small samples at a comfortable drinking temperature.
Create a tasting card
- Sample number.
- Aroma: citrus, grassy, earthy or something else?
- First impression of the flavour.
- Favourite sample and why.
How to play
Give everyone the same samples in the same order. Allow a little quiet tasting time before people compare notes. Provide water between samples and keep sweeteners separate so guests can try the tea itself first.
Make it festive
A little ribbon around each tasting card or a small wrapped prize can make the activity feel special. There are no wrong answers when describing personal preference. Use K&M Herbs’ guide to introduce the family and Grenadian background afterwards, rather than turning the game into a test of herbal knowledge.
