A herbal tea name does not settle every ingredient question. If you are choosing a vegan drink, look at the complete product information and at anything you plan to add to the cup.
Start with the actual product
A plain plant infusion and a blend containing several ingredients are different formulations. Read the full ingredient list, together with any vegan suitability statement. A photograph of leaves or flowers describes a theme; it does not confirm everything inside the packet.
Remember additions to the cup
The finished drink includes the tea and anything added afterwards. Milk, honey and alternative additions each change that description. When serving someone else, offer the plain prepared drink and let them choose from clearly identified extras rather than assuming their preference.
Ask a specific question
If the packet or product page does not answer your question, contact the supplier about that exact item. The UK Tea & Infusions Association directs readers to the pack or manufacturer for vegan suitability. Avoid treating an entire herbal tea category as one identical product.
Common questions
Does a leaf picture confirm a tea is vegan?
No. Use the ingredient information and supplier’s suitability statement.
Should I check a gift selection too?
Yes. Check each tea and any accompanying food or drink extras separately.
