The best herbal tea for you depends on flavour, preparation and personal preference. A headline ranking cannot replace the details of the actual tea you are considering.

Best for which purpose?
A tea that works well in a simple mug routine might differ from one chosen for a shared tasting. Price, pack format and availability also influence a choice. The word best becomes more useful when the reasons behind it are stated.
Ingredient information comes first
A recognisable name and a complete ingredient list help make comparisons meaningful. A plain leaf tea should not be judged as though it were a sweet fruit blend. Different recipes can be enjoyable for different reasons.
Use your own tasting vocabulary
Aroma, strength, finish and whether you want another cup are useful observations. You do not need specialist language. Describing what you enjoyed is more informative than copying a score from someone with different preferences.
A favourite can change
You may choose one tea for sharing and another when you want an uncomplicated cup. Finding several favourites is perfectly reasonable. Our existing tasting article gives a way to explore the range socially without declaring one universal winner.
