Lemongrass Tea: How to Brew and Serve It

Lemongrass tea bags and packet on a wooden table

Lemongrass tea is a good starting point if you enjoy a light, fragrant cup with a citrus-like flavour. K&M Herbs sells lemongrass tea bags for easy preparation at home.

What gives lemongrass tea its character?

Lemongrass has a distinctive aroma. The ingredient is different from lemon fruit, even though the flavour can bring citrus to mind. Check the packet to see exactly what your tea contains, particularly when comparing it with blended products.

Brewing a cup

Use the directions on your K&M packet for the quantity of tea, water and preparation time. Brew in a clean mug or teapot and use a timer. Taste the finished drink before deciding whether you would prefer a different strength next time.

Serving it simply

Try the tea on its own first to appreciate the fragrance. Serve it at a comfortable drinking temperature. If you choose to add lemon or another ingredient, use a small amount so you can still notice the character of the tea.

Tea for a pot or a mug

Choose your vessel according to how many people you are serving. Follow the packet when increasing quantities, rather than leaving a single bag in indefinitely. Remove the bags once brewing is complete and store the remaining tea as directed.
