The K&M guide mentions porridge as one way to serve sea moss gel. The practical aim is a smooth texture and a flavour you enjoy, while following the instructions for the product you actually have.
Make your normal porridge first
For two bowls, cook 100g oats with about 500ml milk or a suitable alternative, following the oat packet’s timing. Stir regularly and add a little more liquid if needed.
Add gel according to its own directions
Use food-grade sea moss gel that has been prepared and stored correctly. Follow its labelled serving and use instructions, including whether it is suitable for adding to warm food. Do not assume every gel has the same concentration or recommended portion. Ask the supplier if the directions are unclear.
Finish with familiar toppings
Banana, a few coconut flakes or a little cinnamon can make the bowl more interesting. Add sweetener only after tasting. Stir well so the texture is even, and serve promptly.
Keep food handling straightforward
Use a clean spoon for the gel and return it to the fridge promptly. Its original storage directions still apply. Plain porridge remains an option without the gel.
